✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ gathered the Muslim women for the oath of allegiance, and Asma said to him: “Will you not uncover your hand to us, O Messenger of Allah?” The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to her: “I do not shake hands with women, but I take the pledge from them.” Among the women there was an aunt of hers who had two bracelets of gold and rings of gold, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to her: “O you, would it please you that Allah adorns you on the Day of Resurrection with two bracelets and rings of the coals of Hell?” She said: “I seek refuge in Allah, O Prophet of Allah.” She said: “I said: ‘O aunt, throw away what is on you.’ So she threw it away.” Asma then told me: “By Allah, my dear child, she threw it away and I do not know who picked it up from its place, and none of us turned to it.” Asma said: “I said: ‘O Prophet of Allah, one of them becomes despised by her husband if she does not season herself for him or adorn herself for him.’ The Prophet of Allah ﷺ said: “What prevents one of you from making two earrings of silver and making for herself two beads of silver, then rolling them between her fingers with a little saffron so that it glitters like gold?”
