حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللهِ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ الْوَصَّافِيُّ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عُبَيْدِ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ عَنْ أَبِي الدَّرْدَاءِ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ

مَنْ سَمِعَ مِنْ رَجُلٍ حَدِيثًا لَا يَشْتَهِي أَنْ يُذْكَرَ عَنْهُ فَهُوَ أَمَانَةٌ، وَإِنْ لَمْ يَسْتَكْتِمْهُ

Translation

  3. ʿAbdullāh b. ʿUbayd b. ʿUmayr
  4. Abū al-Dardāʾ

✧ Whoever hears from a man a hadith that he does not wish to be mentioned about him, it is a trust, even if he does not ask him to keep it secret.
