حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامٌ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ قَالَ إِنَّ زَيْدَ بْنَ ثَابِتٍ وَابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ اخْتَلَفَا فِي الْمَرْأَةِ تَحِيضُ بَعْدَالزِّيَارَةِ فِي يَوْمِ النَّحْرِ بَعْدَمَا طَافَتْ بِالْبَيْتِ فَقَالَ

إِنَّ زَيْدَ بْنَ ثَابِتٍ، وَابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ اخْتَلَفَا فِي الْمَرْأَةِ تَحِيضُ بَعْدَ الزِّيَارَةِ فِي يَوْمِ النَّحْرِ بَعْدَمَا طَافَتْ بِالْبَيْتِ، فَقَالَ زَيْدٌ: يَكُونُ آخِرَ عَهْدِهَا الطَّوَافُ بِالْبَيْتِ، وَقَالَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ: تَنْفِرُ إِنْ شَاءَتْ. فَقَالَتِ الْأَنْصَارُ: لَا نُتَابِعُكَ يَا ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ وَأَنْتَ تُخَالِفُ زَيْدًا، فَقَالَ: فَاسْأَلُوا صَاحِبَتَكُمْ أُمَّ سُلَيْمٍ، فَقَالَتْ: حِضْتُ بَعْدَمَا طُفْتُ بِالْبَيْتِ يَوْمَ النَّحْرِ، فَأَمَرَنِي رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ أَنْ أَنْفِرَ. وَحَاضَتْ صَفِيَّةُ، فَقَالَتْ لَهَا عَائِشَةُ: الْخَيْبَةُ لَكِ، إِنَّكِ لَحَابِسَتُنَا، فَذُكِرَ ذَلِكَ لِلنَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَقَالَ: مُرُوهَا فَلْتَنْفِرْ

  5. In Zayd b. Thābit and Ibn ʿAbbās Ākhtalafā Fī al-Marʾah Taḥīḍ Baʿdālzziyārah Fī Yawm al-Naḥr Baʿdamā Ṭāfat Bi-al-Bayt

✧ Zayd b. Thabit and Ibn 'Abbas differed concerning a woman who menstruates after the ifadah circumambulation on the Day of Sacrifice after she had circumambulated the House. Zayd said: 'Her final act should be circumambulating the House.' Ibn 'Abbas said: 'She may depart if she wishes.' The Ansar said: 'We will not follow you, O Ibn 'Abbas, while you oppose Zayd.' He said: 'Ask your companion Umm Sulaym.' She said: 'I menstruated after I had circumambulated the House on the Day of Sacrifice, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ commanded me to depart.' Safiyyah also menstruated, and 'A'ishah said to her: 'Loss be to you; you are holding us back.' That was mentioned to the Prophet ﷺ, and he said: 'Tell her to depart.'
