✧ When he offered a sacrifice, he would buy two fat, horned, black-and-white rams. When he had prayed and addressed the people, one of them was brought while he was standing in his prayer place, and he slaughtered it himself with a knife. Then he said: "O Allah, this is on behalf of my entire ummah—those who bore witness to Your oneness and bore witness to my conveying of the message." Then the other was brought, and he slaughtered it himself and said: "This is on behalf of Muhammad and the family of Muhammad." He would feed both of them to the poor, and he and his family would eat from them. So we remained for years, and no man of Banu Hashim sacrificed—Allah had sufficed them the burden and expense through the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.
