✧ I entered the mosque of Kufa when its mosque was first built, and at that time it was among the date-sellers, and its walls were of smooth stones. There was a man narrating to the people; he said: "I learned of the Messenger of God's ﷺ Hajj, the Farewell Hajj. He said: I took a mount from my camels as a mount for myself, then I set out until I sat waiting for him on the road to Arafah — or stood waiting for him on the road to Arafah." He said: Then there was a group of riders, and I recognized the Messenger of God ﷺ among them by the description. A man in front of him said: "Clear the way for the mounts!" The Messenger of God ﷺ said: "Woe to him; what need does he have?" I drew near to him until the heads of the two she-camels interlocked. He said: I said: "O Messenger of God, guide me to a deed that will admit me to Paradise and save me from the Fire." He said: "Excellent, excellent! If you have been brief in speech, you have indeed been thorough in asking. Fear God, associate nothing with Him, establish the prayer, give the zakat, perform the Hajj to the House, and fast Ramadan. Clear the way for the mounts!"
