What scholars said about it

In their own words, as Hadith Unlocked records them. They are shown, not summarised into a grade.

  • Ibn ʿAbd al-Barr

machine translationThe hadith scholars say that the narration of al-Layth is the correct one, rather than the narration of Ibn ʿAjlān, and that the narration of Ibn Wahb from al-Layth is sounder (aṣaḥḥ) than the narration of Qutaybah, in my view, in this matter.

    in مسند أحمد, p. 27713
