✧ She was a neighbor of Umm Salamah, the wife of the Prophet ﷺ, and she would visit her. The Prophet ﷺ came in, and Umm Sulaym said: "O Messenger of Allah, what do you think if a woman sees in her dream that her husband is having intercourse with her—should she perform ghusl?" Umm Salamah said: "May your hands be stained with dust, O Umm Sulaym! You have disgraced women before the Messenger of Allah ﷺ." Umm Sulaym said: "Indeed Allah is not shy of the truth, and for us to ask the Prophet ﷺ about what is unclear to us is better than that we remain in ignorance about it!" The Prophet ﷺ said to Umm Salamah: "Rather, may your hands be stained with dust! Yes, O Umm Sulaym, she must perform ghusl if she finds water (i.e., discharge)." Umm Salamah said: "O Messenger of Allah, does a woman have water (discharge)?" The Prophet ﷺ said: "Then how does her child resemble her? They are the counterparts of men."
