✧ When the Messenger of God ﷺ stopped at Dhu Tuwa, Abu Quhafah said to a daughter of his from his youngest children: 'O my little daughter, show me from atop Abu Qubays.' She said: He had lost his sight. She said: So she took him up to it, and he said: 'O my little daughter, what do you see?' She said: 'I see a gathered blackness.' He said: 'Those are the horses.' She said: 'And I see a man moving among that blackness, coming and going.' He said: 'O my little daughter, that is the commander—meaning the one who commands the horses and advances to them.' Then she said: 'By God, the blackness has spread out.' He said: 'By God, then the horses have been dispatched, so hurry me to my house.' So she brought him down, and the horses met him before he reached his house. On the girl's neck was a necklace of silver, and a man met her and snatched it from her neck. She said: When the Messenger of God ﷺ entered Makkah and entered the mosque, Abu Bakr brought his father to him, leading him. When the Messenger of God ﷺ saw him, he said: 'Why did you not leave the old man in his house so that I would come to him there?' Abu Bakr said: 'O Messenger of God, he is more entitled to walk to you than you are to walk to him.' He said: So he seated him before him, then wiped his chest, then said to him: 'Submit,' and he submitted. Abu Bakr brought him to the Messenger of God ﷺ, and his head was like a white flower. The Messenger of God ﷺ said: 'Change this of his hair.' Then Abu Bakr stood, took his sister's hand, and said: 'I adjure you by God and Islam, the necklace of my sister.' But no one answered him. He said: 'O my little sister, consider your necklace as recompense.'
