Musnad Ahmad 26550

Translation

✧ When news of al-Husayn b. Ali's death came, she cursed the people of Iraq and said, "They killed him, may Allah kill them! They deceived him and led him to his doom, may Allah curse them! For I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ: Fatimah came to him in the morning with a pot in which she had made porridge for him, carrying it on a tray until she placed it before him. He said to her, 'Where is your cousin?' She said, 'He is in the house.' He said, 'Go and call him, and bring me his two sons.' She came leading her two sons, each by a hand, and Ali was walking behind them until they entered upon the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. He seated the two boys in his lap, and Ali sat on his right, and Fatimah sat on his left. Umm Salamah said: Then he pulled from beneath me a Khaybari cloak that had been a covering for us on the bed in Madinah. The Prophet ﷺ wrapped it over all of them, then he took the two ends of the cloak with his left hand and raised his right hand toward his Lord, Mighty and Majestic, and said, 'O Allah, these are my family. Remove from them impurity and purify them thoroughly! O Allah, these are my family. Remove from them impurity and purify them thoroughly! O Allah, these are the people of my house. Remove from them impurity and purify them thoroughly!' I said, 'O Messenger of Allah, am I not from your family?' He said, 'Yes, so enter under the cloak.' She said, 'So I entered under the cloak after he had finished his supplication for his cousin Ali and his two sons and his daughter Fatimah ؓ.'"
