machine translationNāfiʿ narrates it, and there is disagreement about him. ʿAbdullāh b. Dīnār narrated it from Nāfiʿ, from Ṣafiyyah, from ʿĀʾishah or Ḥafṣah, or both of them. Mālik b. Anas narrated it likewise, though there is disagreement about him: Ibn Wahb narrated it from Mālik and al-Layth b. Saʿd, from Nāfiʿ, similar to the statement of Ibn Dīnār, and al-Shāfiʿī said likewise from Mālik. Maʿn and Muṣʿab al-Zubayrī said from Mālik, from Nāfiʿ, from Ṣafiyyah, from ʿĀʾishah or Ḥafṣah, with doubt. Ibn Abī Dhiʾb, al-Layth b. Saʿd, ʿAbd al-Wahhāb b. Bukht and Ibn Samʿān said from Nāfiʿ the same as the statement of ʿAbdullāh b. Dīnār from him. There is disagreement about Hishām b. ʿUrwah: Abū Marwān al-Ghassānī narrated it from Hishām, from Nāfiʿ, from Ṣafiyyah, from ʿĀʾishah and Ḥafṣah, without doubt about them. ʿAbdah b. Sulaymān narrated it from Hishām, from Nāfiʿ, from Ḥafṣah and ʿĀʾishah, both of them, and did not mention Ṣafiyyah. Al-Jarrāḥ b. al-Ḍaḥḥāk narrated it from Hishām, from Nāfiʿ, from Ṣafiyyah, from the Prophet ﷺ, not mentioning ʿĀʾishah or Ḥafṣah. The correct view is the view of ʿAbdullāh b. Dīnār and those who followed him from Nāfiʿ.
