✧ Fatimah came walking, as if her gait were the gait of the Messenger of God ﷺ, and he said, 'Welcome to my daughter.' Then he seated her on his right or his left. Then he confided something to her, and she wept. I said to her, 'The Messenger of God ﷺ singled you out with his talk, and then you weep?' Then he confided something to her, and she laughed. I said, 'I have never seen a joy closer to sorrow than today!' Then I asked her about what he said. She said, 'I would not divulge the secret of the Messenger of God ﷺ.' When the Prophet ﷺ passed away, I asked her, and she said, 'He confided to me and said, "Gabriel ﷺ used to review the Quran with me once every year, and this year he reviewed it with me twice. I think that my term has come. And you are the first of my household to join me, and what an excellent predecessor I am for you." So I wept for that. Then he said, "Are you not pleased to be the mistress of the women of this community—or of the believing women?" So I laughed for that.'
