✧ While Abd al-Malik was circumambulating the House, he said: 'May Allah fight Ibn al-Zubayr, for he lies about the Mother of the Believers, saying: I heard her say that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "O Aishah, were it not that your people have only recently left disbelief, I would have demolished the House." My father said: Al-Ansari said: "I would have demolished the House and added to it from the Hijr, for your people fell short in its construction." Al-Harith b. Abd Allah b. Abi Rabi'ah said: 'Do not say this, O Commander of the Believers, for I myself heard the Mother of the Believers narrate this.' He said: 'Had I heard this before I demolished it, I would have left it as Ibn al-Zubayr had built it.'
