حَدَّثَنَا رَوْحٌ حَدَّثَنَا صَالِحُ بْنُ أَبِي الْأَخْضَرِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ شِهَابٍ عَنْ عُرْوَةَ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ

كَانَ يَتَعَوَّذُ فِي صَلَاتِهِ مِنَ الْمَغْرَمِ وَالْمَأْثَمِ. فَقَالَ قَائِلٌ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، مَا أَكْثَرَ مَا تَعَوَّذُ مِنَ الْمَغْرَمِ ! فَقَالَ: إِنَّ الرَّجُلَ إِذَا غَرِمَ حَدَّثَ فَكَذَبَ، وَوَعَدَ فَأَخْلَفَ

Translation

✧ He used to seek refuge in his prayer from debt and sin. Someone said, “O Messenger of Allah, how often you seek refuge from debt!” He said, “When a man is in debt, he speaks and lies, and he promises and breaks his promise.”
