حَدَّثَنَا مُؤَمَّلٌ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ سَلَمَةَ عَنْ عِمْرَانَ السُّلَمِيِّ قَالَسَأَلْتُ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ

سَأَلْتُ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ عَنِ النَّبِيذِ، فَقَالَ: نَهَى رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ عَنْ نَبِيذِ الْجَرِّ وَالدُّبَّاءِ، فَلَقِيتُ ابْنَ عُمَرَ فَسَأَلْتُهُ، فَأَخْبَرَنِي فِيمَا أَظُنُّ عَنْ عُمَرَ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ نَهَى عَنْ نَبِيذِ الْجَرِّ وَالدُّبَّاءِ، شَكَّ سُفْيَانُ، قَالَ: فَلَقِيتُ ابْنَ الزُّبَيْرِ، فَسَأَلْتُهُ فَقَالَ: نَهَى رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ عَنْ نَبِيذِ الْجَرِّ وَالدُّبَّاءِ.

✧ I asked Ibn ʿAbbās about nabīdh, and he said: The Messenger of God ﷺ forbade nabīdh made in the clay jar and the gourd. Then I met Ibn ʿUmar and asked him, and he informed me, as I think, from ʿUmar that the Prophet ﷺ forbade nabīdh made in the clay jar and the gourd. Sufyān was uncertain. He said: Then I met Ibn al-Zubayr and asked him, and he said: The Messenger of God ﷺ forbade nabīdh made in the clay jar and the gourd.
