✧ When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ entered my house, he said, 'Tell Abu Bakr to lead the people in prayer.' She said: I said, 'O Messenger of Allah, Abu Bakr is a tender-hearted man; when he recites the Quran, he cannot control his tears. If only you would order someone other than Abu Bakr.' She said: By Allah, nothing prevented me except the dislike that people might regard as a bad omen the first person to stand in the place of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. She said: I went back to him twice or three times, and he said, 'Let Abu Bakr lead the people in prayer, for you women are like the companions of Yusuf.'
