✧ "Do you see the saying of Allah, Mighty and Majestic: 'Indeed, al-Safa and al-Marwah are among the symbols of Allah. So whoever performs Hajj to the House or performs Umrah, there is no blame upon him to walk between them.' By Allah, there is no blame upon anyone not to walk between them." Aishah said, "How bad is what you have said, O son of my sister! If it were as you have interpreted it, it would be: 'There is no blame upon him not to walk between them.' It was only revealed that this group of the Ansar, before they accepted Islam, used to enter ihram for Manat, the idol which they worshiped near al-Mushallal. Whoever entered ihram for her would be reluctant to walk between al-Safa and al-Marwah. So they asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ about that, and Allah, Mighty and Majestic, revealed: 'Indeed, al-Safa and al-Marwah are among the symbols of Allah. So whoever performs Hajj to the House or performs Umrah, there is no blame upon him to walk between them.'" Aishah said, "Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ established the walking between them as a Sunnah. It is not appropriate for anyone to abandon walking between them."
