حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْرَائِيلُ عَنْ سِمَاكٍ عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَرْفَعُ يَدَيْهِ يَدْعُو، حَتَّى إِنِّي لَأَسْأَمُ لَهُ مِمَّا يَرْفَعُهُمَا يَدْعُو: اللَّهُمَّ فَإِنَّمَا أَنَا بَشَرٌ، فَلَا تُعَذِّبْنِي بِشَتْمِ رَجُلٍ شَتَمْتُهُ أَوْ آذَيْتُهُ

Translation

✧ The Messenger of God ﷺ used to raise his hands in supplication, to the point that I would grow weary for him because of how long he held them up. He would say: “O God, I am only human, so do not punish me for any man I have reviled or harmed.”
