حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجٌ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا شَرِيكٌ عَنِ الْمِقْدَامِ بْنِ شُرَيْحٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ

قُلْتُ لِعَائِشَةَ: هَلْ كَانَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ يَتَمَثَّلُ الشِّعْرَ ؟ قَالَتْ: رُبَّمَا تَمَثَّلَ بِشِعْرِ ابْنِ رَوَاحَةَ وَيَقُولُ: وَيَأْتِيكَ بِالْأَخْبَارِ مِنْ لَمْ تُزَوِّدِ

Translation

✧ I said to ʿĀʾishah: Did the Prophet ﷺ quote poetry? She said: Sometimes he quoted the poetry of Ibn Rawāḥah and would say: And he brings you news from one you did not supply.
