✧ He heard Abu Hurayrah saying: Whoever wakes up in a state of major ritual impurity should not fast. He said: Abu Bakr and his father Abd al-Rahman went until they entered upon Umm Salamah and Aishah, and both of them said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to wake up in a state of major ritual impurity without a wet dream, then he would fast. Abu Bakr and his father Abd al-Rahman then went to Marwan and told him. He said: I adjure you both to go to Abu Hurayrah and tell him. So they went to Abu Hurayrah and informed him. He said: Did those two say that to you? They said: Yes. He said: They are more knowledgeable. It was only reported to me by al-Fadl b. Abbas.
