✧ When the Prophet ﷺ was taken (in death), his back was supported against me. She said: 'Then ʿAbd al-Raḥmān b. Abū Bakr entered with a toothstick in his hand. The Prophet ﷺ asked for it, so I took the toothstick, prepared it (by softening it), then gave it to him. He began to use it, then his hand grew heavy, and he became heavy upon me, and he was saying: "O Allah, with the highest companions (al-rafīq al-aʿlā), O Allah, with the highest companions," twice. She said: 'Then he was taken.' ʿĀʾishah ؓ said: 'The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was taken while he was between my chest and my throat.'
