✧ The women of the Anṣār were mentioned, and she praised them and spoke well of them. She said: When Sūrat al-Nūr was revealed, they took the waistbands of their wrappers and tore them apart, then made veils out of them. A woman from among them entered upon the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and she said: O Messenger of Allah...

machine translation"Tell me about purification after menstruation?" He said: "Yes. Let one of you take her water and her lote-tree leaves (sidr) and purify herself, and let her do the purification well. Then let her pour water over her head, then rub it firmly until it reaches the roots of the hair of her head, then massage it, for that is purification. Then let her pour water over herself. Then let her take a piece of cloth scented with musk and purify herself with it." She said: "O Messenger of Allah, how do I purify myself with it?" The Messenger of Allah ﷺ would speak of that indirectly. So ʿĀʾishah said: "You follow the traces of blood with it." ʿAffān said: "Then let her pour water over her head and press it against the roots of the hair of her head and massage it." ʿAffān said: "[...] to ḥujar or ḥujūr."

machine translationThe aḥādīth of Ibrāhīm b. Muhājir are acceptable (ṣāliḥah); some of them support others, and his ḥadīth is to be written down among the weak narrators (ḍuʿafāʾ).

machine translationIbrāhīm b. Muhājir narrates it, and there is disagreement about him. Al-Aʿmash and al-Thawrī narrated it from Ibrāhīm b. Muhājir, from Ṣafiyyah bt. Shaybah, from ʿĀʾishah. Al-Layth said: from Ibrāhīm b. Muhājir, from Mujāhid or someone else, from ʿĀʾishah. The sound (ṣaḥīḥ) view is the statement of those who said: from Ṣafiyyah bt. Shaybah, from ʿĀʾishah.

machine translationThe wording "she should rub it vigorously until the water reaches the roots of her hair" was brought by Ibrāhīm b. al-Muhājir, who is not strong (laysa bi-qawī). Muslim recorded him in the corroborating reports (al-mutābaʿāt).
