حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَاصِمٍ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا الْجُرَيْرِيُّ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ بُرَيْدَةَ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ
قُلْتُ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، أَرَأَيْتَ لَوْ أَنِّي عَلِمْتُ لَيْلَةَ الْقَدْرِ، مَا كُنْتُ أَدْعُو بِهِ رَبِّي عَزَّ وَجَلَّ ؟ أَوْ مَا كُنْتُ أَسْأَلُهُ قَالَ: قُولِي: اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّكَ عَفُوٌّ تُحِبُّ الْعَفْوَ فَاعْفُ عَنِّي.

✧ I said: O Messenger of Allah, what do you think if I knew which night is Laylat al-Qadr, what should I supplicate to my Lord, Mighty and Majestic? Or what should I ask Him? He said: Say: O Allah, You are pardoning and You love pardon, so pardon me.
