✧ The sun eclipsed during the time of the Messenger of God ﷺ, and the Messenger of God ﷺ stood up to pray. He made the standing very long. Then he bowed and made the bowing very long. Then he raised his head and stood, making the standing very long, but it was less than the first standing. Then he bowed and made the bowing very long. Then he raised his head and stood, making the standing long, but it was less than the first standing. Then he bowed and made the bowing long, but it was less than the first bowing. Then he prostrated and finished when the sun had become clear. Then he addressed the people, praised God (Mighty and Majestic), and extolled Him, then said: 'The sun and the moon are among the signs of God. They do not eclipse for the death or life of anyone. When you see them, pronounce takbir, supplicate to God (Mighty and Majestic), pray, and give charity. O community of Muhammad, no one is more jealous than God (Mighty and Majestic) that His male servant or His female servant should commit adultery. O community of Muhammad, by God, if you knew what I know, you would weep much and laugh little. Indeed, have I conveyed the message?'
