حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ عَنْ هِشَامٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ
أَنَّ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ لِلنَّبِيِّ ﷺ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، كُلُّ نِسَائِكَ لَهَا كُنْيَةٌ غَيْرِي، فَقَالَ لَهَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: اكْتَنِي أَنْتِ أُمَّ عَبْدِ اللهِ، فَكَانَ يُقَالُ لَهَا: أُمُّ عَبْدِ اللهِ حَتَّى مَاتَتْ، وَلَمْ تَلِدْ قَطُّ.

✧ That Aishah said to the Prophet ﷺ: O Messenger of Allah, all your wives have a kunya except me. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to her: Take the kunya Umm Abd Allah. So she was called Umm Abd Allah until she died, and she never gave birth at all.
