حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدٌ عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ قَالَ سَأَلْتُ عَائِشَةَ
كَيْفَ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَصُومُ ؟ قَالَتْ: كَانَ يَصُومُ حَتَّى نَقُولَ: لَا يُفْطِرُ، وَيُفْطِرُ حَتَّى نَقُولَ: لَا يَصُومُ، لَمْ أَرَهُ فِي شَهْرٍ أَكْثَرَ صِيَامًا مِنْهُ فِي شَعْبَانَ، كَانَ يَصُومُ شَعْبَانَ كُلَّهُ إِلَّا قَلِيلًا، بَلْ كَانَ يَصُومُ شَعْبَانَ كُلَّهُ.

✧ How did the Messenger of Allah ﷺ fast? She said: He used to fast until we would say he would not break his fast, and he would break his fast until we would say he would not fast. I never saw him fast more in any month than in Sha'ban. He used to fast all of Sha'ban except a little; rather, he used to fast all of Sha'ban.
