حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ عَمْرٍو عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ
وَاعَدَ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ جِبْرِيلُ فِي سَاعَةٍ أَنْ يَأْتِيَهُ فِيهَا، فَرَاثَ عَلَيْهِ أَنْ يَأْتِيَهُ فِيهَا، فَخَرَجَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فَوَجَدَهُ بِالْبَابِ قَائِمًا، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: إِنِّي انْتَظَرْتُكَ لِمِيعَادِكَ فَقَالَ: إِنَّ فِي الْبَيْتِ كَلْبًا، وَلَا نَدْخُلُ بَيْتًا فِيهِ كَلْبٌ وَلَا صُورَةٌ. وَكَانَ تَحْتَ سَرِيرِ عَائِشَةَ جَرْوُ كَلْبٍ، فَأَمَرَ بِهِ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فَأُخْرِجَ، ثُمَّ أَمَرَ بِالْكِلَابِ حِينَ أَصْبَحَ فَقُتِلَتْ.

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ made an appointment with Jibril at a certain hour for him to come, and he was late in coming at that hour. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ went out and found him standing at the door. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: I waited for you at your appointed time. He said: There is a dog in the house, and we do not enter a house in which there is a dog or an image. There was a puppy under Aishah's bed, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ordered it to be taken out. Then he ordered the dogs to be killed in the morning.
