حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ حَدَّثَنَا الْقَاسِمُ بْنُ الْفَضْلِ حَدَّثَنِي ثُمَامَةُ بْنُ حَزْنٍ قَالَ
سَأَلْتُ عَائِشَةَ عَنِ النَّبِيذِ ؟ فَقَالَتْ: هَذِهِ خَادِمُ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَسَلْهَا - لِجَارِيَةٍ حَبَشِيَّةٍ - فَقَالَتْ: كُنْتُ أَنْبِذُ لِرَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فِي سِقَاءٍ عِشَاءً، فَأُوكِيهِ، فَإِذَا أَصْبَحَ شَرِبَ مِنْهُ
Translation

✧ I asked Aishah about nabidh. She said, 'This is the servant of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, so ask her' – referring to an Abyssinian slave girl. She said, 'I used to make nabidh for the Messenger of Allah ﷺ in a waterskin at night, then I would tie its mouth. When morning came, he would drink from it.'
