حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ بْنُ عَمْرٍو قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ يَعْنِي ابْنَ جَعْفَرٍ عَنْ أُمِّ بَكْرٍ
أَنَّ عَبْدَ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنَ عَوْفٍ بَاعَ أَرْضًا لَهُ مِنْ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ عَفَّانَ بِأَرْبَعِينَ أَلْفَ دِينَارٍ، فَقَسَّمَ فِي فُقَرَاءِ بَنِي زُهْرَةَ، وَفِي ذِي الْحَاجَةِ مِنَ النَّاسِ، وَفِي أُمَّهَاتِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ. قَالَ الْمِسْوَرُ: فَدَخَلْتُ عَلَى عَائِشَةَ بِنَصِيبِهَا مِنْ ذَلِكَ فَقَالَتْ: مَنْ أَرْسَلَ بِهَذَا ؟ قُلْتُ: عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ عَوْفٍ، فَقَالَتْ: إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ: لَا يَحْنُ عَلَيْكُمْ بَعْدِي إِلَّا الصَّابِرُونَ، سَقَى اللهُ ابْنَ عَوْفٍ مِنْ سَلْسَبِيلِ الْجَنَّةِ

✧ Abd al-Rahman b. Awf sold land of his to Uthman b. Affan for forty thousand dinars, and he distributed it among the poor of Banu Zuhrah, the needy among the people, and the Mothers of the Believers. Al-Miswar said, "I entered upon Aishah with her share of that, and she said, 'Who sent this?' I said, 'Abd al-Rahman b. Awf.' She said, 'The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: None will be compassionate toward you after me except the patient ones. May Allah give Ibn Awf to drink from the Salsabil of Paradise.'"
