حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مَرْوَانُ أَبُو لُبَابَةَ مِنْ بَنِي عُقَيْلٍ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَصُومُ حَتَّى نَقُولَ: مَا يُرِيدُ أَنْ يُفْطِرَ، وَيُفْطِرُ حَتَّى نَقُولَ: مَا يُرِيدُ أَنْ يَصُومَ، وَكَانَ يَقْرَأُ كُلَّ لَيْلَةٍ بِبَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ وَالزُّمَرِ

Translation

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ would fast until we said: He does not intend to break his fast, and he would break his fast until we said: He does not intend to fast. He would recite every night the Banu Isra'il and al-Zumar.
