حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ غَيْلَانَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا الْمُفَضَّلُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي عُقَيْلُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ الْأَيْلِيُّ عَنْ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ عَنْ عُرْوَةَ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ

كَانَ إِذَا أَتَى إِلَى فِرَاشِهِ فِي كُلِّ لَيْلَةٍ, جَمَعَ كَفَّيْهِ, ثُمَّ نَفَثَ فِيهِمَا, وَقَرَأَ فِيهِمَا: قُلْ هُوَ اللهُ أَحَدٌ، و قُلْ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ الْفَلَقِ، و قُلْ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ النَّاسِ، ثُمَّ مَسَحَ بِهِمَا مَا اسْتَطَاعَ مِنْ جَسَدِهِ، يَبْدَأُ بِهِمَا عَلَى رَأْسِهِ, وَوَجْهِهِ مَا أَقْبَلَ مِنْ جَسَدِهِ, يَفْعَلُ ذَلِكَ ثَلَاثَ مَرَّاتٍ

Translation

✧ When he came to his bed every night, he would join his palms together, blow into them, and recite in them: "Say: He is Allah, the One," "Say: I seek refuge in the Lord of the daybreak," and "Say: I seek refuge in the Lord of mankind." Then he would wipe with them whatever he could of his body, starting with them on his head and face and the front of his body. He would do that three times.
