حَدَّثَنَا حُسَيْنٌ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْرَائِيلُ عَنْ الْمِقْدَامِ بْنِ شُرَيْحٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ

خَرَجَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِلَى الْبَادِيَةِ إِلَى إِبِلِ الصَّدَقَةِ، فَأَعْطَى نِسَاءَهُ بَعِيرًا بَعِيرًا غَيْرِي، فَقُلْتُ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، أَعْطَيْتَهُنَّ بَعِيرًا بَعِيرًا غَيْرِي، فَأَعْطَانِي بَعِيرًا آدَمًا صَعْبًا, لَمْ يُرْكَبْ عَلَيْهِ، فَقَالَ: يَا عَائِشَةُ، ارْفُقِي بِهِ، فَإِنَّ الرِّفْقَ لَا يُخَالِطُ شَيْئًا إِلَّا زَانَهُ، وَلَا يُفَارِقُ شَيْئًا إِلَّا شَانَهُ

Translation

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ went out to the desert to the camels of zakat, and he gave his wives a camel each, except me. I said: 'O Messenger of Allah, you gave them a camel each, except me.' He gave me a dark, difficult camel that had never been ridden. He said: 'O Aishah, be gentle with it, for gentleness never mixes with anything but beautifies it, and never leaves anything but disgraces it.'
