✧ A man from Banū Sulaym passed by a group of the Companions of the Prophet ﷺ while he was driving his sheep. He greeted them, and they said: ‘He only greeted you to seek protection from you.’ So they went to him and killed him, and took his sheep. They brought them to the Prophet ﷺ, and God, Mighty and Majestic, revealed: ‘O you who believe, when you go forth in the way of God, investigate carefully, and do not say to one who offers you peace, “You are not a believer”’ — to the end of the verse.
