حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ بْنِ أَبِي عَلْقَمَةَ عَنْ أُمِّهِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ أَنَّهَا قَالَتْ كُنْتُ أُحِبُّ

كُنْتُ أُحِبُّ أَنْ أَدْخُلَ الْبَيْتَ فَأُصَلِّيَ فِيهِ، فَأَخَذَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ بِيَدِي فَأَدْخَلَنِي فِي الْحِجْرِ، فَقَالَ لِي: صَلِّي فِي الْحِجْرِ إِذَا أَرَدْتِ دُخُولَ الْبَيْتِ، فَإِنَّمَا هُوَ قِطْعَةٌ مِنَ الْبَيْتِ، وَلَكِنَّ قَوْمَكِ اسْتَقْصَرُوا حِينَ بَنَوُا الْكَعْبَةَ، فَأَخْرَجُوهُ مِنَ الْبَيْتِ

✧ I loved to enter the House and pray in it. The Messenger of God ﷺ took me by the hand and brought me into the Hijr, then said to me: 'Pray in the Hijr when you want to enter the House, for it is but a piece of the House. But your people fell short when they built the Kaaba, so they excluded it from the House.'
