✧ I was with the Prophet ﷺ when he said: 'O Aishah, if only we had someone to talk to us.' She said: I said: 'O Messenger of Allah, shall I send for Abu Bakr?' He remained silent. Then he said: 'If only we had someone to talk to us.' I said: 'Shall I send for Umar?' He remained silent. She said: Then he called a servant before him and whispered to him, and he went. She said: Then Uthman sought permission, and he granted him permission. He entered, and the Prophet ﷺ conversed with him privately for a long time. Then he said: 'O Uthman, Allah, Mighty and Majestic, is clothing you with a shirt. If the hypocrites want you to take it off, do not take it off for them, and let them have no honor.' He said that to him twice or three times.
