✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was sitting with his thigh uncovered. Abu Bakr asked permission to enter, and he granted him permission while he was still in that state. Then Umar asked permission, and he granted him permission while he was still in that state. Then Uthman asked permission, and he let down his garment over himself. When they left, I said: 'O Messenger of Allah, Abu Bakr and Umar asked permission and you granted them permission while you were in that state, but when Uthman asked permission, you let down your garment over yourself!' He said: 'O Aishah, should I not feel shy before a man? By Allah, the angels feel shy before him.'
