حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ نُمَيْرٍ عَنْ هِشَامٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ كَانَ إِذَا أَمَرَهُمْ بِمَا يُطِيقُونَ مِنَ الْعَمَلِ يَقُولُونَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، إِنَّا لَسْنَا كَهَيْئَتِكَ، إِنَّ اللهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ قَدْ غَفَرَ لَكَ مَا تَقَدَّمَ مِنْ ذَنْبِكَ وَمَا تَأَخَّرَ. قَالَتْ: فَيَغْضَبُ حَتَّى يُعْرَفَ الْغَضَبُ فِي وَجْهِهِ.

✧ "When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ would command them with what they were capable of, they would say, 'O Messenger of Allah, we are not like you! Indeed, Allah ﷻ has forgiven you for your past and future sins.' She (Aisha) said, 'So he became angry until the anger was apparent on his face.'"
