حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ وَمُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عُبَيْدٍ حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللهِ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي نَافِعٌ عَنْ سَائِبَةَ

عَنْ عَائِشَةَ نَهَى رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ عَنْ قَتْلِ الْحَيَّاتِ قَالَ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ الَّتِي تَكُونُ فِي الْبُيُوتِ وَأَمَرَنَا بِقَتْلِ الْأَبْتَرِ وذو الطُّفْيَتَيْنِ قَالَ إِنَّهُمَا يَلْتَمِسَانِ الْبَصَرَ وَيُسْقِطَانِ مَا فِي بُطُونِ النِّسَاءِ وَمَنْ تَرَكَهُمَا فَلَيْسَ مِنِّي

✧ From A’ishah: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade killing snakes—Muhammad b. Ubayd said: the ones that are in houses—and commanded us to kill the short-tailed one and the one with two stripes. He said: “They seek to take away sight and cause what is in the wombs of women to drop. And whoever leaves them is not from me.”
