حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي لَبِيدٍ

قُلْتُ لِعَائِشَةَ: أَيْ أُمَّةُ، أَخْبِرِينِي عَنْ صَلَاةِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ، قَالَتْ: كَانَتْ صَلَاتُهُ فِي رَمَضَانَ وَغَيْرِهِ سَوَاءً ثَلَاثَ عَشْرَةَ رَكْعَةً فِيهَا رَكْعَتَيِ الْفَجْرِ، قُلْتُ: فَأَخْبِرِينِي عَنْ صِيَامِهِ، قَالَتْ: كَانَ يَصُومُ حَتَّى نَقُولَ قَدْ صَامَ، وَيُفْطِرُ حَتَّى نَقُولَ قَدْ أَفْطَرَ، وَمَا رَأَيْتُهُ صَامَ شَهْرًا أَكْثَرَ مِنْ صِيَامِهِ فِي شَعْبَانَ، كَانَ يَصُومُهُ إِلَّا قَلِيلًا.

✧ I said to ʿĀʾishah: 'O mother, tell me about the prayer of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.' She said: 'His prayer in Ramadan and at other times was the same: thirteen rakʿahs, including the two rakʿahs of dawn.' I said: 'Then tell me about his fasting.' She said: 'He would fast until we would say, "He has fasted," and he would break his fast until we would say, "He has broken his fast." I never saw him fast any month more than his fasting in Shaʿbān; he would fast it except a little.'
