حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْأَعْلَى عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ عُرْوَةَ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ أَنَّهَا قَالَتْ
أَقْسَمَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ أَنْ لَا يَدْخُلَ عَلَى نِسَائِهِ شَهْرًا. قَالَتْ: فَلَبِثَ تِسْعًا وَعِشْرِينَ. قَالَتْ: فَكُنْتُ أَوَّلَ مَنْ بَدَأَ بِهِ، فَقُلْتُ لِلنَّبِيِّ ﷺ: أَلَيْسَ كُنْتَ أَقْسَمْتَ شَهْرًا ؟ فَعَدَّتِ الْأَيَّامَ تِسْعًا وَعِشْرِينَ ؟ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ: الشَّهْرُ تِسْعٌ وَعِشْرُونَ.

✧ The Messenger of God ﷺ swore not to enter upon his wives for a month. She said: He stayed twenty-nine [days]. She said: I was the first one he began with, so I said to the Prophet ﷺ: Did you not swear a month? Then the days were counted as twenty-nine. The Prophet ﷺ said: The month is twenty-nine.
