Translation

✧ While we were sitting with the Messenger of Allah one day, he looked at the sky and said, 'This is the time for knowledge to be taken away.' A man from the Ansar called Ziyad b. Labid said to him, 'Will knowledge be taken away, O Messenger of Allah, while the Book of Allah is among us and we have taught it to our children and women?' The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'I had thought you were one of the most understanding of the people of Madinah.' Then he mentioned the misguidance of the People of the Two Books, while they had what they had of the Book of Allah ﷻ. Later, Jubayr b. Nufayr met Shaddad b. Aws at the prayer place, and he narrated this hadith to him from Awf b. Malik. Shaddad said, 'Awf spoke the truth.' Then he said, 'Do you know what the removal of knowledge is?' I said, 'I do not know.' He said, 'The departure of its vessels.' He said, 'Do you know which knowledge will be the first to be taken away?' I said, 'I do not know.' He said, 'Humility, until you will hardly see a humble person.'
