حَدَّثَنَا زَكَرِيَّا بْنُ عَدِيٍّ حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عَمْرٍو عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَقِيلٍ قَالَ سَأَلْتُ عَلِيَّ بْنَ حُسَيْنٍ قَالَ
أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو رَافِعٍ مَوْلىَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ أَنَّ حَسَنَ بْنَ عَلِيٍّ الْأَكْبَرَ حِينَ وُلِدَ أَرَادَتْ أُمُّهُ فَاطِمَةُ أَنْ تَعُقَّ بِكَبْشَيْنِ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ لَا تَعُقِّي عَنْهُ وَلَكِنِ احْلِقِي شَعْرَ رَأْسِهِ ثُمَّ تَصَدَّقِي بِوَزْنِ رَأْسِهِ مِنَ الْوَرِقِ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ ثُمَّ وُلِدَ حُسَيْنٌ بَعْدَ ذَلِكَ فَصَنَعَتْ مِثْلَ ذَلِكَ

✧ Abu Rafi', the freedman of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, informed me that when Hasan b. Ali the elder was born, his mother Fatimah wanted to offer an 'aqiqah of two rams. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Do not offer an 'aqiqah for him; rather shave his head and give in charity the weight of his head in silver for the sake of Allah." Then Husayn was born after that, and she did the same.
