حَدَّثَنَا هُشَيْمٌ أَخْبَرَنَا حُصَيْنٌ عَنْ هِلَالِ بْنِ يِسَافٍ
أَنَّ رَجُلًا كَانَ نَازِلًا فِي دَارِ سُوَيْدِ بْنِ مُقَرِّنٍ قَالَ: فَلَطَمَ خَادِمًا، قَالَ: فَغَضِبَ سُوَيْدٌ، فَقَالَ: أَمَا وَجَدْتَ إِلَّا حُرَّ وَجْهِهِ، وَلَقَدْ رَأَيْتُنِي وَنَحْنُ سَابِعُ سَبْعَةٍ مِنْ وَلَدِ مُقَرِّنٍ وَمَا لَنَا خَادِمٌ إِلَّا وَاحِدٌ، عَمَدَ إِلَيْهِ أَصْغَرُنَا فَلَطَمَهُ، فَأَمَرَنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِذَا رَجَعْنَا أَنْ نُعْتِقَهُ، فَأَعْتَقْنَاهُ
Translation

✧ A man was staying in the house of Suwayd b. Muqarrin and slapped a servant. Suwayd became angry and said: 'Could you find nothing but the free part of his face? I remember when we were the seventh of seven of the children of Muqarrin and had no servant except one. The youngest of us went and slapped him, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ordered us, when we returned, to set him free, so we set him free.'
