✧ My father offered his sister to Salman, but he refused and married a freedwoman of his called Buqayrah. He said: It reached Abu Qurrah that there was something between Salman and Hudhayfah. He came seeking him and was told that he was in a vegetable garden of his. He went to him and met him with a basket containing vegetables, having inserted his staff into the handle of the basket while it was on his shoulder. He said: Abu Abdullah, what was between you and Hudhayfah? He said: Salman said: "And man is ever hasty." They went until they came to Salman's house. Salman entered the house and said: Peace be upon you. Then he gave permission. There was a rug placed at the door, and at his head were bricks, and there were two earrings. He said: Sit on the bed of your mistress that she prepares for herself. He said: Then he began to narrate to him. He said: Hudhayfah used to narrate things that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said in his anger to certain peoples. I would be asked about them, and I would say: Hudhayfah knows best what he says, and I dislike that there be grudges between peoples. Hudhayfah was approached and told: Salman neither believes you nor disbelieves what you say. Hudhayfah came to me and said: O Salman, son of Salman's mother. I said: O Hudhayfah, son of Hudhayfah's mother, you will stop or I will write to Umar. When I threatened him with Umar, he left me. And the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: I am of the children of Adam. Any believing servant whom I cursed with a curse or insulted with an insult without deserving it, make it a prayer for him.
