حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ فُضَيْلٍ حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ يَزِيدَعَنْ سَلْمَانَ قَالَ

قَالَ الْمُشْرِكُونَ: إِنَّ هَذَا لَيُعَلِّمُكُمْ، حَتَّى إِنَّهُ لَيُعَلِّمُكُمُ الْخِرَاءَةَ، قَالَ: قُلْتُ: لَئِنْ قُلْتُمْ ذَاكَ، لَقَدْ نَهَانَا أَنْ نَسْتَقْبِلَ الْقِبْلَةَ أَوْ نَسْتَدْبِرَهَا، أَوْ نَسْتَنْجِيَ بِأَيْمَانِنَا، أَوْ يَكْتَفِيَ أَحَدُنَا بِدُونِ ثَلَاثَةِ أَحْجَارٍ، أَوْ يَسْتَنْجِيَ أَحَدُنَا بِرَجِيعٍ أَوْ عَظْمٍ

Translation

✧ The polytheists said: This one is teaching you, even teaching you about defecation. He said: I said: If you say that, he forbade us to face the qiblah or turn our backs to it, or to cleanse ourselves with our right hands, or for one of us to be content with fewer than three stones, or for one of us to cleanse himself with dung or bone.
