✧ Junāda b. Abī Umayya was our commander at sea for six years. One day he addressed us and said: We entered upon a man among the Companions of the Prophet ﷺ and said: “Tell us what you heard from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and do not tell us what you heard from other people.” They said: They pressed him hard, so he said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ stood among us and said: “I warn you against the false messiah, the Dajjāl; I warn you against the false messiah, the Dajjāl. He is a man with a defective eye”— Ibn ‘Awn said: I think he said: “the left one”— “He will remain on earth for forty mornings, with him mountains of bread and rivers of water. His authority will reach every watering place, but he will not come to four mosques.” He mentioned: the Sacred Mosque, the Aqṣā Mosque, Mount Ṭūr, and Madinah. “But whatever of that happens, know that Allah is not one-eyed; Allah is not one-eyed; Allah is not one-eyed.” Ibn ‘Awn said: And I think in his narration it said: “He will be given power over one human being and will kill him, then bring him back to life, and he will not be given power over anyone else.”
