حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْجَابِرُ قَالَ
صَلَّيْتُ خَلْفَ عِيسَى مَوْلًى لِحُذَيْفَةَ بِالْمَدَائِنِ عَلَى جَنَازَةٍ فَكَبَّرَ خَمْسًا ثُمَّ الْتَفَتَ إِلَيْنَا فَقَالَ مَا وَهِمْتُ وَلَا نَسِيتُ وَلَكِنْ كَبَّرْتُ كَمَا كَبَّرَ مَوْلَايَ وَوَلِيُّ نِعْمَتِي حُذَيْفَةُ بْنُ الْيَمَانِ صَلَّى عَلَى جَنَازَةٍ وَكَبَّرَ خَمْسًا ثُمَّ الْتَفَتَ إِلَيْنَا فَقَالَ مَا نَسِيتُ وَلَا وَهِمْتُ وَلَكِنْ كَبَّرْتُ كَمَا كَبَّرَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ صَلَّى عَلَى جَنَازَةٍ فَكَبَّرَ خَمْسًا
Translation

✧ I prayed behind ʿĪsā, a freed slave of Hudhayfah, at al-Madāʾin at a funeral, and he said the takbīr five times, then turned to us and said, "I did not make a mistake or forget, but I said the takbīr as my master and patron Hudhayfah b. al-Yamān did: he prayed at a funeral and said the takbīr five times, then turned to us and said, 'I did not forget or make a mistake, but I said the takbīr as the Messenger of God ﷺ did: he prayed at a funeral and said the takbīr five times.'"
