✧ Hudhayfah b. al-Yaman about the Prophet ﷺ

حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ عَنْ عُبَيْدِ أَبِي الْمُغِيرَةِ عَنْ حُذَيْفَةَ قَالَ

كَانَ فِي لِسَانِي ذَرَبٌ عَلَى أَهْلِي وَكَانَ ذَلِكَ لَا يَعْدُوهُمْ إِلَى غَيْرِهِمْ فَشَكَوْتُ ذَلِكَ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ فَأَيْنَ أَنْتَ مِنَ الِاسْتِغْفَارِ يَا حُذَيْفَةُ إِنِّي لَأَسْتَغْفِرُ اللهَ فِي الْيَوْمِ مِائَةَ مَرَّةٍ

Translation

✧ There was sharpness in my tongue toward my family, and that did not go beyond them to others. I complained about that to the Prophet ﷺ. He said, 'Where are you with seeking forgiveness, O Hudhayfah? I seek God's forgiveness a hundred times a day.'
