✧ Hudhayfah b. al-Yaman about the Prophet ﷺ

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ حَدَّثَنَا سَالِمٌ الْمُرَادِيُّ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ هَرِمٍ الْأَزْدِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللهِ ورِبْعِيِّ بْنِ حِرَاشٍ عَنْ حُذَيْفَةَ قَالَ
بَيْنَا نَحْنُ عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ إِنِّي لَسْتُ أَدْرِي مَا قَدْرُ بَقَائِي فِيكُمْ فَاقْتَدُوا بِاللَّذَيْنِ مِنْ بَعْدِي يُشِيرُ إِلَى أَبِي بَكْرٍ وَعُمَرَ وَاهْدُوا هَدْيَ عَمَّارٍ وَعَهْدَ ابْنِ أُمِّ عَبْدٍ

✧ While we were with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, he said: 'I do not know how long I will remain among you, so follow the two after me,' pointing to Abu Bakr and Umar, 'and be guided by the guidance of Ammar and the covenant of Ibn Umm Abd.'
