حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَاحِدِ بْنُ زِيَادٍ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو رَوْقٍ عَطِيَّةُ بْنُ الْحَارِثِ حَدَّثَنَا مُخْمِلُ بْنُ دِمَاثٍ قَالَ غَزَوْتُ مَعَ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْعَاصِ قَالَ
فَسَأَلَ النَّاسَ مَنْ شَهِدَ مِنْكُمْ صَلَاةَ الْخَوْفِ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ؟ قَالَ فَقَالَ حُذَيْفَةُ أَنَا صَلَّى بِطَائِفَةٍ مِنَ الْقَوْمِ رَكْعَةً وَطَائِفَةٌ مُوَاجِهَةَ الْعَدُوِّ ثُمَّ ذَهَبَ هَؤُلَاءِ فَقَامُوا مَقَامَ أَصْحَابِهِمْ مُوَاجِهُو الْعَدُوِّ وَجَاءَتِ الطَّائِفَةُ الْأُخْرَى فَصَلَّى بِهِمْ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ رَكْعَةً ثُمَّ سَلَّمَ فَكَانَ لِرَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ رَكْعَتَانِ وَلِكُلِّ طَائِفَةٍ رَكْعَةٌ

✧ He asked the people, 'Who among you witnessed the prayer of fear with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ?' Hudhayfah said, 'I did. He prayed one rak'ah with one group of the people while the other group faced the enemy. Then these went and stood in the place of their companions facing the enemy, and the other group came, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ prayed one rak'ah with them, then he said the salam. Thus the Messenger of Allah ﷺ prayed two rak'ahs, and each group prayed one rak'ah.'
