✧ Hudhayfah b. al-Yaman about the Prophet ﷺ

حَدَّثَنَا حُسَيْنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ يَعْنِي ابْنَ عُيَيْنَةَ عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ عَنْ رِبْعِيٍّ عَنْ حُذَيْفَةَ قَالَ

أَتَى رَجُلٌ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَقَالَ إِنِّي رَأَيْتُ فِي الْمَنَامِ أَنِّي لَقِيتُ بَعْضَ أَهْلِ الْكِتَابِ فَقَالَ نِعْمَ الْقَوْمُ أَنْتُمْ لَوْلَا أَنَّكُمْ تَقُولُونَ مَا شَاءَ اللهُ وَشَاءَ مُحَمَّدٌ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ قَدْ كُنْتُ أَكْرَهُهَا مِنْكُمْ فَقُولُوا مَا شَاءَ اللهُ ثُمَّ شَاءَ مُحَمَّدٌ

Translation

✧ A man came to the Prophet ﷺ and said: "I saw in a dream that I met some of the People of the Book, and they said: 'What a good people you are, were it not that you say, "Whatever God wills and Muḥammad wills."'". The Prophet ﷺ said: "I used to dislike that from you. Say: 'Whatever God wills, then Muḥammad wills.'"
